category: Footwear,
The Challengers have always been a versatile shoe in HOKA's hybrid road / trail realm but I felt the ATR 6 felt flat compared to previous versions. The 7 has certainly improved the fit with a stretchy upper that can accommodate most foot shapes, improved the tongue with a little more material, and kept the cushion in the sweet spot of firm but protective. These shoes will still be meant for non-tech trails (think MTB), dirt roads, xc trails but I think this version has a racier feel which will make it an option for everyday runs up to ultras.
